It’s been a while.
The last few months have been quite a ride. I’m really excited to be back on YouTube! I took some much-needed time off to focus on my mental and physical wellness because let’s face it… I was not #makingthemostofquarantine. I was actually really struggling.
This whole global-pandemic/being-a-married-couple-living-with-your-parents thing has been super hard. As much as it’s been hard, though, it’s also been a weird blessing in other ways.
During the break, I finally started using my free time to do fun things again. If you’re confused or new, since 2017, I’ve pretty much spent all of my free time either researching and obsessing about my illness or creating content here and trying to build up this business. So, when I all of a sudden didn’t have to do that, I was like… what do I even like to do with my free time? I spend most days biking with Sam, playing video games again, and dressing up in a Spider-man suit and making the dumbest Tik Tok videos.
(So, if you’ve found me through Tik Tok, welcome!)
It’s been really fun to rediscover what my hobbies are again and to have an outlet for all of my nerd energy and just from daily life. It feels so healing to spend time enjoying life instead of just everyday being about the hustle or the struggle of what we’re facing.
I’ve actually been feeling way better physically, too, and it’s crazy that it took a global pandemic for me to remember that life is so short and if you just spend all of your time wishing that it was different, it’s easy to miss what’s right in front of you.
As hard as the last few months have been, it’s taught me that while not every day has to be the best day ever, we can choose to find magic in the mundane, everyday moments. Like Philippians 4:8 says, we can choose to think about what is “true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy.”
When I look at how much my life has changed in the last few months as a result of this attitude or mindset shift, I just know I want to help other people be able to see how magical their own life is too.
I’ve been thinking a lot about how I can best serve all of you because I’m still very passionate about things like health and wellness, but I’m not a doctor, nutritionist, dietician, or health coach and it’s just not ethical or responsible for me to give anyone health advice right now.
Also, there are tons of people who are certified to do those things with virtual and brick and mortar practices. So, I kind of want to bring something different to the table.
So, as the title says, things are changing a little and I’m moving my content to more lifestyle content and less sit-down ‘lets-talk-about-digestion’ content. I think you guys will like this better anyway because I’m still going to incorporate holistic living in my videos and I’ll definitely be doing more ‘What I Eat in a Day’ style videos (all allergy-friendly) to give you some meal ideas.
Also, I know a lot of you may be immunocompromised and stuck at home, so I’m starting a series called Disney nights where we’ll pick a different Disney movie however many times we do this and we’ll dress up like characters from the movie, we’ll make a completely allergy-friendly menu based on the movie, and then watch it together while we eat our healthy dinners together.
And there will just be a lot more fun content like that coming your way that’ll be a combination of healthy and holistic living, but also lots of fun and encouragement so that you’re inspired to make the everyday magical, change your story, and live your life with more joy.
On another note, WE FREAKIN MOVED!!!!
If you’ve been watching our debt free journey series, we weren’t planning on moving until June. I’m going to explain more about why we moved early in next month’s debt free update vlog (those are still happening too), but trust me, it was time. It was really time.
I literally can not wait to give you a full apartment tour, but I want to put the finishing touches on a few things first. That’ll be coming soon.
Those are all the updates I have for now. Thanks so much for sticking around while I took a break from the tube. It is back to regularly scheduled programming on Mondays.
You guys rock so hard.
I can’t wait to make more videos for you. See you soon, girl.
