Hi, friends! It’s been a while since I’ve put up a blog post, but I’d like to get back at it so you can have a more searchable library of content on here. Hope everyone is doing great!
I have a work evaluation coming up soon and I was thinking a lot about the way I feel about myself professionally and personally. Sometimes, it is hard to feel like myself or my “best” when I struggle with chronic illness. It leaves me feeling bloated and foggy and most days I just want to wear sweats.
Luckily, I CAN do that because I work from home… BUT I don’t think it’s really good for me to do that every day. The way you dress is a small thing that can say a lot about you and the way you feel about yourself. So, I’ve decided to prioritize putting on “real” clothes on in the morning, to establish a routine and a sense of “I’m going to work now”. I’ve already noticed this has helped my mind shift to work mode most mornings.
If you also struggle with chronic illness (or you’re simply on a tight budget), you may not have a lot of room in your budget to spend on clothes. That’s why I’m super excited to have discovered SHEIN. SHEIN is an affordable clothing brand based in China. I decided to try out some “business comfortable” clothing options and I have to say… I wasn’t disappointed with my purchases! Here’s what I got.
Outfit #1 – Leopard Jacket
I have never been into the animal print thing, but when I saw this jacket I knew I had to have it!! This is the SOFTEST jacket ever (my husband actually pets it like a dog) and the lower half of it being white adds a nice contrast to it. It fits great – aside from the bottom being a little bit “poofy” when the jacket is closed. Otherwise, this is a “fancier” zip up jacket that is comfortable, but still says “I’m a girl boss!”
Outfit #2 – Black Peplum Top
I LOVE the way this peplum top fits me. I call it my “worship leader” shirt. It’s so comfy and cute, but still a nicer pick than a plain T-shirt. I’m a huge fan of this shirt and will probably order it in a few more colors!
Outfit #3 – Sage Blazer
Y’ALL. If you’ve spent a second on my Instagram or YouTube Channel – you know this is my aesthetic. I LOVE the sage green look. I couldn’t believe this blazer was only $18! This is such a great way to add a little extra “work flair” to your outfit, but it’s not “too” professional looking (like you’re overdressing for a Zoom call). This is definitely my favorite piece from this haul.
Outfit #4 + 5 – Ruffle Tees
I loved this next piece so much that I got it in two colors!! This mauve ruffle tee is comfortable, feminine, and a great staple to add to your business and your casual wardrobe. I also ordered it in the sage color because I had to. I love the garnet as well! This piece came in at around $7 and I can’t believe how nice the material feels! I love how you can wear it more casually or style it with work pants for a more professional look.
Outfit #6 – Black Work Pants
I love me some high waisted pants. I know not everyone is into the look… but being more insecure about my IBS/SIBO bloat… I love it! These pants are so comfortable and feel like leggings, but are actually work pants! I love them, but I wish you couldn’t see my underwear line. It wasn’t bad enough for me to throw them out, but I probably wouldn’t wear these in an out-of-my-home, corporate office setting (unless you’re into thongs but I’m not). They work perfectly for working from home, though!
